Dear Students and Friends of TX Dance Company,

 

You may have already heard the news and what I am about to tell you may not take you by surprise. I would like to formally announce that I will be leaving Taiwan this coming December to head back home to Australia. This would mean that we would also be closing the doors of Total Xtreme Dance Company by the end of December 2013.

 

I would like to personally thank you one and all for your support, help and friendship and tell you how much I have enjoyed having you all in the studio. It has been an amazing time since my first visit to Taiwan in October 2007, under the Working Holiday Scheme for Australian citizens. I had the opportunity to be employed by Aurora Dancers as a Dance Instructor and Choreographer. I stayed with Aurora Dancers for nearly a year and had great experience meeting so many wonderful people.

 

My passion for Latin music inspired me to organize Salsa events in a club call Barbados in Taipei and Londoner in Taichung back in 2008. My aim was to invite different Dance Instructors to showcase their talents, provide free lessons for students and train students to do performances. I invited international Dj’s to feature their finest music for us every month. I had a great time doing this and was very happy to have had the support of Taiwan Salsa Dance Instructors’ and the Latin dance community. I thank you for all your love and support it is greatly appreciated.

 

!In April 2009, I made the decision to open a dance studio in Taichung primarily due to location, size, cost advantages, compared to Taipei also due to friends and support base. We achieved greatly in our efforts, developed strong bonds of friendship, travelled around Asia dancing, competing and representing Taiwan and we all worked very hard to achieve our goals. A big thank you to all my students at TX and those that undertook my crazy choreography routines. I will find it hard to name you all as this letter wouldn't end but I am sure you know who you are.

 

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who worked directly or indirectly in the Company since it’s inception: Fabiana Wang, Jenna Weng, Carlos Lin, Stephanie Lin, James Wang, Chloe Chen, Andrea Wang, Stanley Chen, Jack G, Ninja, Colin Pau, Owen, Crazy, Amy Chen, Nick Ding, Vladimir Barsuk, Radu Grecov, Svetlana Grecova, Kitty Chen, Cherry Ho, Zhanna Mahlysh, Kat Lai, Toby Moa and Angel Chen.

 

Furthermore, a big thank you to the Taiwan Salsa Association for the constant support since TX first opened its doors and for the great experience we had organizing the Taiwan Salsa Festival in Taichung. My gratitude and thanks to you: Dr. Yeah, Tina Chuang, Renee Chuang, and Jenna Weng.

 

It has been a fantastic time spent in Taiwan for the past six years and I am very happy and grateful to have chosen Taiwan as a place to reside. I am looking forward to seeing you all somewhere in the world and I am equally excited about starting a new phase of my personal career and life abroad.

 

I would like to invite you all to celebrate our last Christmas party on Saturday, 14th of December at TX Dance Studio-Taichung, and as always I will do my best to make this a crazy fun filled night to remember! This will also be my farewell party; so I hope you can all make it. Please feel free to contact me if there is anything we can do for you prior to my departure. I will miss you all greatly and thank you so much for everything.
